Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-09-18
1. The service provider
Swissvignette is an independent commercial ordering service for the Swiss motorway e-vignette. It is not a public authority and acts solely as an intermediary on the customer's instruction.
2. Scope of the service
On the customer's instruction, Swissvignette submits an order for a Swiss motorway e-vignette for the licence plate provided and verifies the data entered for evident errors before submission.
The vignette is issued by the competent authority and linked to the licence plate supplied by the customer. Swissvignette does not issue the vignette.
3. Charges
The total charge is CHF 48.00, comprising the official e-vignette charge of CHF 40.00 and a service fee of CHF 8.00. The service fee is a commercial charge and does not constitute a tax or public duty.
The e-vignette may be obtained directly from the official portal at via.admin.ch for CHF 40.00 without using this service.
4. Customer obligations
The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the licence plate, the country of registration and the vehicle category. An e-vignette registered to an incorrect licence plate is not valid for the customer's vehicle and cannot be transferred.
The customer confirms that the vehicle has a total weight not exceeding 3.5 tonnes.
5. Cancellation and refunds
An order may be cancelled free of charge at any time before it is submitted for registration. After submission the official charge is non-refundable, as the vignette is issued with immediate effect.
Where an order fails as a result of an error attributable to Swissvignette, the full amount including the service fee is refunded.
6. Liability
Swissvignette is liable for damage caused by intent or gross negligence. It is not liable for fines, penalties or other consequences arising from data entered incorrectly by the customer, or from use of the motorway network without a valid vignette.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the customer's country of residence remain unaffected.
Swissvignette is an independent commercial service. It is not a government agency and is not affiliated with the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security or the official Via portal.
